چکیده
Di-tert-butyl peroxide (DTBP) and 2, 2'-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) were used as initiators and chlorobenzene was used as an inert solvent. The values of kp/(2kt)1/2 in the neat phase are slightly less than those in chlorobenzene solution for a given initiator concentration and temperature. This retardation can be attributed to the solvent effect of chlorobenzene on the decomposition rate of DTBP, since the correction of the solvent effect eliminates the decrease in kp/(2kt)1/2. The values of first-order term "aRi"

Solvent-Augmented Mineralization of Pyrene by a Mycobacterium sp.
The biodegradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon pollutants is constrained, in part, by their solid physical state and very low water solubility. Searching for ways to overcome these limitations, we isolated from soil a bacterium capable of growing on pyrene as a sole source of carbon and energy. Acid-fast stain, morphology, and fatty acid profile identified it as a Mycobacterium sp. In a ...
متن کاملAlkanindiges illinoisensis gen. nov., sp. nov., an obligately hydrocarbonoclastic, aerobic squalane-degrading bacterium isolated from oilfield soils.
An alkane-degrading bacterium, designated GTI MVAB Hex1(T), was isolated from chronically crude oil-contaminated soil from an oilfield in southern Illinois. The isolate grew very weakly or not at all in minimal or rich media without hydrocarbons. Straight-chain aliphatic hydrocarbons, such as hexadecane and heptadecane, greatly stimulated growth; shorter-chain (</=C(15)) hydrocarbons did not (w...
متن کاملRapid heterogeneous oxidation of organic coatings on submicron aerosols
Laboratory studies have found that heterogeneous oxidation can affect the composition and loading of atmospheric organic aerosol particles over time scales of several days, but most studies have examined pure organic particles only. In this study, in order to probe the reactivity of organic species confined near the particle surface, the rates and products of the OH-initiated oxidation of pure ...
متن کاملAn Investigation of Antioxidant Properties of Zinc and Molybdenum Dithiocarbamates in Hydrocarbons
The oxidation and degradation of hydrocarbons at high temperature and pressure in the presence of oxygen is one of the common oil product problems. There are many antioxidants to prevent or inhibit oxidation processes; molybdenum and zinc dithiocarbamates are known as powerful antioxidants. In this paper, the oxidation inhibition time of cumene has been investigated using zinc and molybdenum di...
متن کاملComposition Shift due to the Different Solubility in the Lubricant Oil for Multicomponent Mixtures
The composition shifts of multicomponent mixtures used in low temperature Joule-Thomson refrigerators due to the different solubility in lubricant oils are studied in this paper. A compound of squalane with a high-boiling point temperature is treated as a kind of mineral oil. The Peng-Robinson (PR) equation of state (EOS) is selected to predict the solubilities, in which a group contribution mo...
